At this year’s Kora, African R&B artistes, P-Square take home a whooping $1 million!
Nigerian pop group P-Square has been crowned best African artiste of the year at the 8th edition of Kora Awards held in Burkina Faso’s capital Ouagadougou on Saturday. One million dollars is attached to the prize.
After four years of hiatus, Kora Awards – a Pan-African music festival and awards night, equivalent to America’s Grammy Awards – which debuted in 1994 in South Africa, has been re-launched, and the ceremonies are scheduled to rotate within African cities, according to initiator and organiser, Ernest Adjovi – a business tycoon originally from Benin Republic.
The ceremonies opened with an awesome ballet in tribute to American pop singer Michael Jackson who died last year.
