[POLITICS]: NIGERIAN MEGA PARTY-PLATFORM FOR NIGERIANS IN THE DIASPORA, YOUTHS, WOMEN TO CONTEST FOR ELECTED OFFICE
- Today’s NEXT has a story on Nigeria’s mega party, the Social Democratic Mega Party which is a fusion of about 25 political parties and over 150 political leaders across the country.
- The party intends to be a platform for women, youth and Nigerians in Diaspora to contest for elective positions in the 2011 elections.
- The party has since begun mobilizing various civic society groups to come under its political umbrella. You can read all about it here . It’s increased mobilization drive is likely a response to Nigeria’s decision to conduct its Presidential elections this January. Will the organization’s drive to be an all inclusive, masses driven party work? We look forward to watching as events unfold.
