Note: The ‘Gift from Africa’ campaign seeks to engage the African private sector in the fight against AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria. The campaign is cooperation between The Global Fund to Fight AIDS, Tuberculosis and Malaria, the leading provider of funds to fight the three diseases and Friends of the Global Fund Africa (Friends Africa), a pan-African organization which works to mobilize strategic political and financial support for the fight against the diseases. It is also is an opportunity for Africans to demonstrate global leadership as part of a broader effort to promote private support for the Global Fund around the world. The Global Fund is Sub-Saharan Africa’s largest multilateral financing institution for health and has committed $10.9 billion to the region to date.
