(CP-Africa) – Cameroon captain, Samuel Eto’o was named African Footballer of the Year for a record fourth time by the Confederation of African Football (CAF) today, beating Ivory Coast’s Didier Drogba and Ghana’s Asamoah Gyan.
The 29 year old who has won three successive Footballer of the Year titles between 2003 and 2005 was awarded the title in Cairo.
The Footballer of the Year title is voted by coaches and captains of Africa’s 53 national teams.
