Goodluck Jonathan wins Nigerian ruling party nomination by 2,736 votes to 805 votes
11Nigeria’s President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan has emerged as the winner of the PDP primaries winning his challenger, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar by a landslide. Goodluck Jonathan captured 77.7% of the votes.
Jonathan also won in Abubakar’s home state of Adamawa, a feat that led the state to trend globally on Twitter as Nigerians tweeted their shock. PDP Primaries, Akwa Ibom and the party’s sole female candidate, Sarah Jubril also trended globally.
