Gen. Muhamadu Buhari (Rtd.), the presidential candidate of the Congress for Progressive Change, has picked Pastor Tunde Bakare, the convener of the Save Nigeria Group, as his running mate for the April presidential election.
According to news published in the Punch newspaper online, Buhari announced this today through his spokesperson, Mr. Yinka Odumakin. He said his choice was based on the need to put the best feet forward in what promises to be a decisive political challenge for the soul of Nigeria.
“We have seen the uncommon enthusiasm of our people to register to vote in spite of the many challenges of the exercise, which speaks of their desire to do what Tunisians and Egyptians are doing on the streets through the ballot box in April.” said Buhari.
Some other Presidential Aspirants and their running mate:
Goodluck Jonathan and Namadi Sambo/PDP
Mallam Ibrahim Shekarau and Chief John Odigie – Oyegun/ANPP
