“Revoda: Our votes will count!” CP-Africa catches up with Gbenga Sesan of the Revoda team

Are you a Nigerian registered to vote in the upcoming elections? Have you downloaded Revoda? If you haven’t, please visit http://eienigeria.org/revoda and download the application before continuing with this post. Alternatively, please view the application/download instructions below.
ReVoDa Mobile app allows voters to report as independent citizen observers from their respective polling units across Nigeria. The process begins with registration on the ReVoDa network by sending your name and polling unit number by SMS to 08128882011, using this format: PU# Name (e.g. 24/13/02/015 Oluwangozi Danladi). If you’re sending from someone else’s phone, enter your own mobile number after the PU number and name, using this format: PU# Name Mobile# (e.g. 24/13/02/015 Oluwangozi Danladi 0800 000 0000). You will get a return SMS confirming your registration and advising you to download the app. ReVoDa also allows EiE Nigeria to send relevant information about the electoral process to registered users in specific locations. ReVoDa was designed and built for EiE Nigeria by a team of tech volunteers.
Watch a catchy awareness video about Revoda below
To give Nigerians more perspective about the application/technology, we recently interviewed Gbenga Sesan one of the Nigerians behind the application. Take a listen to the interview below and spread the word!
Some of the questions addressed include:
1. How the application works
2. How many Nigerians the application expects to engage
3. We address recent speculations about the Inspector General of Police banning the use of camera phones in the upcoming elections
And many more!
