- CSO Engagement: For Civil Society Organizations (CSOs), a section on the portal is created to host all registered members working on election related projects to allow instant and easy cross pollination of ideas, and report of HOT issues on the elections
across the country. It will also serve as a resources barn accumulating
photo news reports from polling stations and other vital information contributed by different CSOs members.
- Election Observers/Individuals: Everyone is like a watch-dogs during the election process. The USHAHIDI application on the website will enable people send reports using their mobile phones GPRS, SMS or computer. The code for sending in reports are via SMS is- 081ELECTION (08135328466).
For 2011 Nigeria Elections, active participation is encouraged. The key word is report- report what you see at your polling both. The open platform will map all the reports, to allow CSOs take proactive action they come in!
Candidates Information Resource http://candidates.nigeriaelections.org/- This platform is created for Nigerians to submit information about the different candidates contesting for elections.
Agora (Community) http://agora.nigeriaelections.org/ - Users can register and submit content on topical issues. This platform is for people who are politically aware and credible. Agora is not just about articles, people can be as creative as possible and submit cartoons, videos, etc
Booth Finder http://booths.nigeriaelections.org/ – to help people find their polling booth! It will help those monitoring the elections to find the different polling booths/stations spread across the country.
