Check out our latest list of top bloggers in Nigeria 2012! For the 2011 list, keep reading below…N.B. – Though we consider ourselves, CP-Africa, a top Nigerian blog, we have left ourselves out of the rankings to preserve its objectivity.
We have been wanting to do an internet and blogging series on CP-Africa and what better way to kick off the series than to start off discussing the blogging space on the continent! Blogging in Africa has really taken off over the past few years and it is going to continue to be exciting in the years to come.
Our first internet and blogging feature country is Nigeria which is home to some of Africa’s most loved and recognized blogging brands.
Credible internet ranking statistics are difficult to come by but for now, we will be relying on rankings by web information company, Alexa.com. Here is a list of Nigeria’s top 5 blogs.
UPDATE: Please note that these rankings are based on a moment in time i.e., May 22, 2011. Alexa rankings are known to change fairly frequently but these blogs in general are typically the most visited overall…

The rank by country is calculated using a combination of average daily visitors and pageviews on from users from that country.
The Top 5 Blogs in Nigeria
1. Mobility Nigeria
Number 1 on our list is Mobility Nigeria, a blog dedicated to mobile culture in Nigeria. The site features reviews of mobile phones and services in Nigeria and also publishes its own independent mobile research analysis. It currently ranks number 123 overall in Nigeria and is run by Yomi Adegboye
2. Talk of Naija
Second on the list is Talk of Naija, a portal that covers everything from politics to entertainment in Nigeria. If you are a fan of Nigerian producer, Don Jazzy on Facebook, you have likely seen one of their news stories on your timeline. The site currently ranks number 131 in Nigeria.
3. Bella Naija
Third on the list is renowned Nigerian entertainment and lifestyle portal, Bella Naija. Bella Naija currently ranks number 134 in Nigeria. Watch its Founder’s interview with CNN here.
4. Linda Ikeji
A close fourth is Linda Ikeji’s blog. Linda Ikeji covers news, events, lifestyle, entertainment and sometimes gossip and is currently ranked number 136 and is one of the biggest entertainment blogs in Nigeria.
5. Webtrends Nigeria
Number 5 on the list is Webtrends Nigeria, a website run by Sheriff Shittu, Founder of Traffic.com.ng. The site covers news, analysis and features on Nigerian internet trends. Webtrendsng.com is currently number 176 overall in Nigeria.
