U.S digital honours Ghanaian President

For his sturdy leadership and strong commitment of remaining anchored to build a strong and resilient economy for his country, Ghana’s President John Evans Atta Mills has been honored with two awards and an information package system by a digital platform in the United states.
The President of the South-South News, Francis Lorenzo, presented the award at a ceremony in New York attended by permanent representatives of some developing nations in the United Nations.
The award was in recognition for Ghana’s economic growth and a painting on a 100 metre long scroll for advancement in education reforms, cultural diversity and harmony.
‘Your fiscal prudence, ability to keep a single eight inflation figure for close to a year; maintaining stable currency and your growth pattern has made Ghana’s economy one of the fastest growing economy worldwide’ a citation accompanying the awards read.
The platform also applauded president mills for setting up the media fund to build the capacity of journalist and that it was clear manifestation of the president’s believe in the power of the media as a critical partner in development.
On receiving the awards, President Atta Mills expressed hope that other government would build on the achievement reminding leaders to recognize that they were voted to power to raise citizen’s standard of living.
While congratulating the Ghanaian president on the permanent secretaries from Bangladesh, Honduras, Antigua and Barbuda and Guinea Bissau and other said they are ready to emulate the Ghanaian experience.
