A virus free CP-Africa
6By Nmachi Jidenma
About a month ago, I woke up to find disturbing malicious content on CP-Africa. Someone had hacked into the site and basically infected most of the site’s pages with malware and installed the most disturbing pornographic content. This attack lasted for up to a week and Google promptly flagged the site as having malware. I have put a lot of time, sacrifice and effort into building this site and seeing the hacker unrelentlessly infect the site day after day nearly broke my heart.
Our technical team was hard at work, cleaning infected files and fighting to remove vulnerabilities but after each victory, the hacker was at it again the next day. It was a very traumatizing period but thankfully, by Friday, we had resolved all issues and the site was back to normal.
I have no idea who the hackers are but the fact that someone will take time out of their schedule to target and bring down a site is beyond me. Since then, we’ve worked hard to secure the site and ensure that the site is protected. Thankfully, it has since been virus free and will continue to be so as has been the case since inception.
I will like to thank our readers who continued to believe in us despite that trying week. This site is a labour of love for me and I will work hard to ensure that it stays around for a long, long time. Please keep spreading our message to the world. Who would have thought a positive news site will do so well? Thanks so much for your readership. The best is yet to come!
