Finally, President Jonathan declares State of Emergency in certain parts of Nigeria

President Goodluck  Jonathan of Nigeria recently declared a State of Emergency in certain parts of Nigeria. Find the speech below.

1. Fellow Nigerians, it has become necessary to address you on recent events in some parts of the country that have threatened our collective security and shaken the foundations of our corporate existence as a nation.

2.    You are all aware of the security challenges which the activities of the Boko Haram sect have foisted on the country. What began as sectarian crises in the North Eastern parts of the country has gradually evolved into terrorist activities in different parts of the country with attendant negative consequences on our national security.

3.      Government in an effort to find a lasting solution to the security threats occasioned by the activities of the Boko Haram sect, constituted a Presidential Committee under the Chairmanship of Ambassador Usman Gaji Galtimari, to ascertain the immediate and remote causes of the crises. While efforts are being made to implement the recommendations of the Committee, the crises have assumed a terrorist dimension with vital institutions of government including the United Nations Building and places of worship becoming targets of terrorist attacks.

4.   While the search for lasting solutions is ongoing, it has become imperative to take some decisive measures necessary to restore normalcy in the country especially within the affected communities. Consequently, I have in the exercise of the powers conferred on me by the provisions of section 305(1) of the Constitution, declared a state of emergency in the following parts of the federation, namely:

(i)  Borno State

a)  Maidugiri Metropolitan LGA

b)  Gamboru Ngala LGA

c)   Banki Bama LGA

d)  Biu LGA

e)   Jere LGA

(ii)  Yobe State

a)  Damaturu LGA

b)  Geidam LGA

c)   Potiskum LGA

d)  Buniyadi-Gujba LGA

e)   Gasua-Bade LGA

(iii) Plateau State

a)  Jos North LGA

b)  Jos South LGA

c)   Barkin-Ladi LGA

d)  Riyom LGA

(iv) Niger State

a)  Suleja LGA

The details of this proclamation will be transmitted to the National Assembly as soon as they reconvene from their current recess, for their necessary action.

5.    The Chief of Defence Staff and the Inspector-General of Police have been directed to put appropriate measures in place to ensure the protection of lives and properties of residents in the affected parts of the country. I therefore urge the political leadership in the affected states and Local Government Areas to give maximum cooperation to the law enforcement agencies deployed to their respective communities to ensure that the situation is brought under control within the shortest possible time.

6.   The Chief of Defence Staff, in collaboration with other Service Chiefs, has also been directed to set up a special force unit within the Armed Forces, with dedicated counter terrorism responsibilities.

7.   As part of the overall strategy to overcome the current security challenges, I have directed the closure of the land borders contiguous to the affected Local Government Areas so as to control incidences of cross boarder terrorist activities as terrorists have taken advantage of the present situation to strike at targets in Nigeria and retreat beyond the reach of our law enforcement personnel.

8.  Let me assure our neighbours, especially within the ECOWAS sub-region, of Nigeria’s commitment to its international obligations as provided by the ECOWAS Protocol on Free Movement of Persons. The temporary closure of our borders in the affected areas is only an interim measure designed to address the current security challenges and will be reviewed as soon as normalcy is restored.

9.   I commend the efforts of our political leaders at various levels as well as our traditional and religious leaders for their support for the various conflict resolution mechanisms and peace building measures that have been initiated by this administration. We call on the citizenry to continue to provide useful information to our law enforcement agencies to enable us arrest the situation.

10. Terrorism is a war against all of us. I call on all Nigerians to join hands with government to fight these terrorists.

11. I wish all Nigerians a very happy New Year.

12.   Long Live the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Dear Mr. President of Nigeria. This year we suggest you start, the forgiveness of ourselves and others, the errors and faults of each other. But no man is perfect. I went to school in northern Nigeria. I remember the action (against the people do not obey to a healthy order) President of Nigeria – Mr. Shagarii. Therefore, a database comparative be database will refer to that history with president Shagarii. Although, at that time there was no terrorist threat – it – it was problems with the transfer of people when the river flooded in the vicinity of Sokoto when dams were built there. The action lasted weeks or a little longer and was a success. am writing this because I have enough when people are constantly in Nigerian govermental is sick and made in ill situation, and they not may to give good decision. You're right, that decisions you take into your own hands. You are in a very good political situation, it already can only get better and You not have must to fight for the presidency. Therefore, people will trust you more, than to trust the ill to the patient (Nigerian government) . Therefore, in the fight against religious sect you can be very effective.

You are the president of all people in Nigeria, no matter what religion they are believe. I was went every Sunday to the Catholic Church in Sokoto, but I also (in my mind), I could just walk into a Muslim mosque. Because I had friends among Muslim people I was not see the religious problems in common communication. Today, I am more and more with Muslims get along with friends, than with Catholics in Europe be enchanted by fake media. Action sects in Nigeria is due to adulteration of faith as believing in God.

I remember in television Planete shown as the Igbo beliefs, infected by theJewish religion. We need to see that through out the world's religions in war with Muslim and Christian, the another religion be made a sects, want to smash the data from within the community and cause civil wars. In this way another religion (like Jewish religion) they laid out entirely in Europe, the Protestant faith, where the queen of the Masonic Lodge governs the church. In England she was a England queen. Masonic lodges scoff at Jesus Christ. For fun in a sick Masonic lodges grown even are do devil worship. In Krakow (in central Europe), like mosquitoes, in Lagos sects proliferated jechowy witnesses. These sects are designed to destroy a religion from within. How are good people are hesitant it drives them to suicide. There really the bad dare people urging accession to the sect they were Jews.

Similar situations are in Nigeria. The true Muslim faith is for the Nigerian government very dangerous. Muslim faith, as opposed to the Christian faith, is an antibiotic for evil. Christianity is very sick because give to enslaving by the Jewish religion .. The true Muslim religious (accepting democratic system) is resistant to enslavement by the Jewish religion. Therefore, as in Europe, Jews in disguise Christians like a chameleons, so also in Nigeria in the guise of false Muslims sect are in the form of Boko Haraam.

Therefore very much true gives solidarity Muslim with Christians and solidarity Christians with Muslim. Is much needed emphasis of president of Nigeria, the mutual exchange of information, about the universal principles (common to Christian and Muslim faiths), giving the right to safety of human life. Sense of security is for all people the same. After all respects is a truth. Respects the friendship. Respect for the person of Jesus Chtystusa and his mother Maria.

Then president of Nigeria may give, tell to observe the principles of Nigerian soldiers giving people a sense of security. There may be a situation, that Nigerian soldiers although most of them, shoot into the sky in a panic. Similarly, the need to distinguish good people from bad people. Before the soldiers need acacias must have plans and know their place. We need strong men and women ( the power of psyche). I wish You, Mr president of Nigeria happy year 2012.
