“Why refineries are not working” – Jonathan

Refineries in Nigeria are not working because of defective Turn Around Maintenance (TAM) said President Goodluck Jonathan at a recent media chat.

According to President Jonathan the Federal Government wants to eventually leave the operations of the refineries to the private sector so that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) will be concerned primarily with building up the nation’s oil reserves.

He declared that before he leaves office after four years he wants to ensure Nigerians have substantially improved electricity supply so they can do away with “I better pass my neighbour” generators.

“Deregulation has saved other sectors of the economy like telecoms and media, so we should consider it for the oil sector,” he said.

    My advise to Mr. President is to make the refinery working instead of transporting our fuel to abroad for refine.

    Mr Goodluck, now I know there is no good luck that comes with your name. The removal of the fuel subsidy will only lead to geometric increment of goods and services. This will lead to increase in cost of food, transportation, housing, clothing, the list goes on. How will this lead to the eradication of poverty? To me, your are going to create a world breaking level of poverty in Nigeria. Kindly remove your cap or hat and think better
