Eskimi.com, the Lithuanian social network with 2 million Nigerian users [G+ Hangout Interview]
6I recently caught up with Vytas Paukstys, Co-founder and C.E.O. of Eskimi.com, a Lithuanian mobile social network with a strong Nigerian user base. With over 4 million + users
globally, Nigerians make up about 50% of the startup’s userbase at about 2 million +. The mobile social network is also popular in African countries such as Ghana and Kenya.
From my interview with him, one things is clear:
- A strong focus on Nigeria’s feature phone users pays off. As majority of Nigerian mobile users are feature phone users, this is more often than not, a winning strategy.
In the interview, we talk growth, competition and his vision for Eskimi by year end 2012.

Eskimi is also looking for developers, particularly those involved in mobile gaming and community products who can develop products that can be promoted to Eskimi’s audience. With over 2 million users in Nigeria, this would be a unique opportunity. For more information, click here.
