Call for Ideas for Tech-In Education
You know how people keep saying that education in Nigeria is now in tatters? In 2012, Co-Creation Hub Nigeria (www.cchubnigeria.com) is offering Nigerians an opportunity to do something about this while potentially starting a profitable venture of their own.
Co-Creation Hub is inviting all Nigerians to send in ideas to improve education using technology to Tech-In Education.
Do you have an idea on how we can use technology to…
Make subject learning more interactive and interesting taking into consideration the different learning styles of students? Give young people a reason and motivation to learn?
Engage young people actively in learning as a means of building their skills, competencies and performance?
Improve the quality of teachers in our primary and secondary schools?
Bring parents more actively into the learning process particularly around students’ learning and progress monitoring?
You can enter your idea into the event for a team of highly skilled people to help you develop it further. To enter your idea, click http://tech-in.org/submit.php
By entering your idea in, you stand the chance of winning up to $3000 in seed funding to develop the idea further.
The top 6 ideas shortlisted by our panel of judges will be developed further at the 48-hour co-creation event in February 2012. At the event, multi-disciplinary teams with expertise in teaching, software and web development, design, business development and marketing communication will work with the idea owner to build a working prototype, a business sustainability strategy and route-to-market strategy. At the end of the event, our panel of judges will select the top 3 ideas which will be awarded cash prizes.
If you would like to work on any of the teams at the February event, you can signify interest by applying at http://tech-in.org/participate.php
Tech-In Education is part of CcHub’s Tech-In event series where we’ll be looking to develop innovative technology tools to improve learning amongst primary and secondary school students in Nigeria.
Tech-In Education is not a talk-shop but a living lab where contextualised cool solutions are birthed. To learn more about the event, visit www.tech-in.org
