Coca Cola launches “A Billion reasons to Believe in Africa” campaign in Nigeria, Kenya
0The world’s leading beverage company, CocaCola has announced the launch of its continent wide campaign, ”A Billion reasons to Believe in Africa.” The campaign is a quest to collate positive and inspirational stories about the continent and provide an avenue to celebrate Africa’s unique stories.
According to Femi Ashipa, Brand Manager at Coca-Cola Nigeria, “The world may choose to see Africa as dark, hopeless and a home to war, famine, corruption, poverty and disease, but we at Coca-Cola choose to see this beautiful continent through a fresh and colourful lense.”. “Coca-Cola has operated on this continent for several decades with footprints that extend to every country. We know, understand, live and breathe Africa; hence we can influence positive attitudes amongst Africans by providing a beacon of optimism. Although negative news sells, we are increasingly witnessing a positive shift in every facet of the continent and have chosen to celebrate those things instead.”
“Coca-Cola believes that anyone with the proper African attitude can overcome hurdles and achieve success. So, we are prepared to recognise excellence in the fields that directly impact the lives of the African man, woman, and youth. We want to see Nigerians collectively share their Billion Reasons to Believe in Africa,” he said.
To participate in the “A Billion Reasons to Believe in Africa” visit the Coca Cola Nigeria page at facebook.com/cokenaija and share your unique stories about the continent with the title “My Reason To Believe in Africa”. You can also share your stories on Twitter by tweeting @Coca-Cola_NG. There will be prizes for the best stories and tweets.
The campaign was also recently launched in Kenya to much fanfare with an African Carnival at Nairobi’s Central Park. Kenyan recording artists Wyre, P-Unit and Size 8 were the main performing acts at the event and comedians Eric Omondi and Otoyo were also present.
