2012 has been a big year for Nigeria’s burgeoning e-commerce space with both local and foreign entrants claiming their stake in the young but growing sector. A recent entrant into the fast growing space is Market Headquarters Nigeria (MHQ) Nigeria which has formally launched its online grocery store, www.mhqstore.com.
Nigerians are a busy lot. With traffic, the stresses of busy work schedules and the country’s competitive corporate terrain, the average working class Nigerian is pressed for time to effectively run a home while attending to their workplace duties.
Enter MHQ Store which hopes to alleviate these stressors and provide a cheap, convenient way online to shop for groceries, food stuff and condiments.
Bukola Fasuba, an MHQ Store Founder recently told CP-Africa that the online store hopes to be Nigeria’s top local foodstore online. The store offers next day delivery in Lagos via its in-house delivery trucks/vehicles and charges a N1,000 delivery fee. Customers do not have to buy goods in bulk but can purchase items according to their budget.
For now, payment is by bank transfer or via users’ Mastercard or Visa cards with an Interswitch integration launch going live as soon as next week. Verified customers can pay on delivery.
