The annual Deloitte ‘Best Company To Work For Survey’ has revealed Virgin Active South Africa to have the most votes, heading the large company category.
The survey has been running since 2000, in which time it has emerged as the pre-eminent survey of its kind. Virgin Active SA improved on its second place achieved last year, ironically, replacing fast food king McDonald’s, which along with Absa chose not to participate this year.
“It is a proud moment for Virgin Active SA and a great acknowledgement of a key business strategy where we set out to create a business that all of our staff would love working for,” commented Managing Director Ross Faragher-Thomas.
“We want to be seen as an exciting employer and to be able to attract leading talent to our business. People are the cornerstone of our future growth at Virgin Active but ultimately this pride in working for us leads to excellent service to our members.”
Virgin Active’s mission is to bring positive change to people’s lives, because life’s more fun when you move. With about a hundred Clubs and many more in the pipeline, it is getting people moving and feeling great all over South Africa. The clubs now sport over 650 000 members with 3500 full time employees and then a similar number of people who run group exercise classes, personal trainers and the like.
