Tranzit, Nigeria’s first free web/mobile enabled mobility service has established a partnership with TaxiPixi, a fast growing international e-hailing service company headquartered in India, to drive the technology for its taxi e-hailing and booking efforts.
This partnership changes the name of the service to TaxiPixi Africa.
According to a statement from Tranzit, this new partnership will accelerate the expansion of their services to various cities across Africa, and also allow Tranzit to refocus its efforts of building a neutral marketplace for all types of vehicles and conveyance services.
The statement further added that the partnership will catalyze Tranzit into increasingly becoming a curator and developer of world-class transport, location and mobility technologies over time.
This partnership is built around Taxipixi’s advanced e-hailing technology and Tranzit’s robust marketplace operating model, combining these strengths to achieve aggressive growth in Nigeria, pending an imminent expansion to other major African cities.
The official kick-off of TaxiPixi Africa, powered by Tranzit in Nigeria, was on the 3rd of November 2014, with many of Tranzit’s existing drivers already available on the new service, and agreements in place to add at least a thousand over the next year.
