The Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN), Lagos State branch has elected its first female chairperson, Mrs. Taiwo Ige.
The elected chairperson who has made history in CIBN, is a seasoned banker and former Chairman of the Association of Women Bankers in Nigeria.
In her acceptance speech, Mrs. Ige promised to make good the confidence reposed in her. She also promised to strengthen the consultancy services through development of relevant courses, focus on membership drive and total rebranding to move the institute forward.
She is to run the affairs of CIBN Lagos for the tenure 2015 to 2017 with other elected executive members.
The Lagos State branch of CIBN was founded in 1978, and electing a female chairperson after 37years of inception is one that would remain historic.
