Malawi’s tech and innovation hub, mHub has partnered with Myjobo, the country’s largest job listing site, to launch a mobile application development competition, ‘The Jobonology Mobile App Challenge’, designed to motivate and reward participants who develop innovative, creative, functional and original mobile apps.
The competition’s theme: “How can Mobile Technology address the health sector issues in Malawi”, seeks applications that provide solutions to the problem within Malawi’s health sector.
The Jobonology Mobile App Challenge which runs from May 1 to July 1, is open to individuals or a team of not more than three Malawians under the age of 35.
In the first 2 weeks of the challenge developers will submit product ideas and the succeeding six weeks will be for development and submission of finished projects.
mHub revealed that winners will receive $2,000 in seed funding and will be incubated at the mHub in Lilongwe, to further develop the application into a proper profitable business.
