Five public primary schools across different states of the federation has been adopted by Airtel Nigeria through its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme under its “Adopt-a-School’’ CSR programme.
The adopted schools are Iyeru-Okin Primary School I, Offa, Kwara; Oremeji Primary School II, Ajegunle, Lagos; St. John’s Primary School, Oke-Agbo, Ijebu-Igbo, Ogun; Community Primary School, Amumara, Imo; and Presbyterian Primary School, Ediba, Cross River.
Under the Adopt-a-School programme, Airtel adopts government-owned schools located in poor, rural/semi urban communities and either rehabilitate or rebuild them.
Airtel made a gift donation of of 400 school bags, 1,400 note books, 400 uniforms and packs of pen among other items. Airtel also renovated the blocks of classrooms at Iyeru-Okin Primary School 1, Offa, donated toilet facilities and also drilled a borehole.
Airtel is committed to enriching the lives of key stakeholders in the communities it operates and it continues to create opportunities to uplift underprivileged kids through its various CSR programmes.
