Netherlands based advisory and research institute, HiiL Innovating Justice has launched an innovation Challenge geared towards finding and strengthening new initiatives that can empower startups and SMEs in East and West Africa.
With the challenge, HiiL looks to unlocking the potential of East and West African SMEs by finding and empowering the governance and justice innovations they truly need.
According to HiiL, “We want to support the best innovations and address regulatory hurdles and bureaucratic red tape faced by youth-led startups in East and West Africa”.
The winners of the SME Empowerment Innovation Challenge can win up to $70,000 in seed funding.
Submitted innovations will be assessed based on uniqueness, scalability, sustainanbility and impact. This will be followed by an online campaign from September 1 to 17 2015, and selection of the top three innovations, to be invited to the innovating justice boot camp in Lagos.
Deadline for submission is August 1, 2015.
