Nomination for the 5th edition of Ernst and Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award is now open in East and West Africa.
The EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award seeks to recognise the exceptional innovations and achievements of entrepreneurs and their efforts in creating jobs and contributing to the growth of the economy.
Nominations are open in two categories – the Master Entrepreneur, designed to honour individuals whose outstanding achievements have made them the region’s most successful entrepreneurial business leaders and the Emerging Entrepreneurs, created to single out and acknowledge individuals who showed exceptional tenacity and determination in building successful enterprises.
The winners of the Master Category will represent the regions at the global competition that will take place in Monte Carlo, Monaco.
To be eligible, nominees must currently be, and have been for at least three years, the lead/senior executive director of a business and therefore are primarily responsible for the success of the business or enterprise. The minimum turnover threshold in the Emerging Entrepreneur category is US$5million, and US$75million for the Master Entrepreneur category.
According to Henry Egbiki, regional managing partner, EY, “The entrepreneurs are the ones that make investments to build infrastructure and create jobs. This is why we celebrate them. They see opportunities in challenges, have the can do attitude and inspire the young generation.”
Submission of nominations for West Africa closes August 14 2015, while that of East Africa closes on 31 August 2015.
