The Federal Republic of Nigeria on Tuesday announced that it will continue to partner, collaborate and forge a working relationship with the Chinese government especially in rail transportation.
The newly appointed Minister of Transportation, Mr Rotimi Amaechi made the remark when the China’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Gu Xiaojie paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja, the capital city of the country.
Mr Amaechi praised China’s support for Nigeria in infrastructural development especially of the rail lines.
Amaechi said although much work has been done, but Nigerians were looking forward to the completion of the project.
He also solicited the collaboration of the Chinese government in ensuring the speedy completion of the projects at hand.
The need for infrastructural development in Africa cannot be over emphasized.
The ambassador said China had achieved a lot in the area of infrastructure development in Nigeria and would continue to do more.
Gu said China was ready to partner and collaborate with Nigeria to promote industrial relations.
