Learn Africa Education Development Foundation (LAEDF) has honoured students, teachers and schools who distinguished themselves in the June/July 2015 NECO SSCE examinations.
According to the foundation, the award is in line with its unwavering commitment to the celebration and promotion of academic excellence.
There are two categories of the awards, the National and State categories. In the state category, the first set of award presentations held this week from Tuesday, November 17 to Thursday, November 19, 2015 in its offices nationwide.
45 students were awarded across the geopolitical zones in the country for their outstanding performances and the teacher from the school which produced the first prize winner in each state also received special recognition during the event in appreciation of their great contributions to the students’ successes at the NECO June/July SSCE in 2015.
In addition, the Foundation also donated books to the libraries of the schools that produced the three best performing candidates in each state.
The national award will hold on Wednesday December 2, 2015 at the Protea Hotel, Ikeja Lagos.
Awards of academic excellence like this one at very much encouraged in a developing nation like Nigeria as it s expected to promote and encourage interest in studying and learning.
