Agbo Odeh, an indigene of Benue state in Nigeria has just bagged a First Class degree in Psychology from Benue State University according to information available to me.
The young man who graduated with a 4.57 CGPA was declared to have shattered records of the University, after having been a former student of the Physics department of the same University and was struggling at the bottom of the class with carry overs in 17 courses.
The young man was admitted into the University in 2005 via a pre-degree program, with the sole intent of studying Medicine and Surgery, but was denied the opportunity after the school offered admission to only 2 remedial students of TIV extraction.
He then settled to study Physics although with low motivation and depression. His success story began when he bought another JAMB form after 3 years of study and put in for Psychology.
When asked what was responsible for his rare achievement, Hilary attributed it to God. According to him, he has a photographic memory with capacity to retain and reproduce anything he takes in. He also said that there was a time in School that he had to read for 15 hours at a stretch.
Hillary love to read and engage in creative thinking. He dreams of becoming a professor of clinical psychology and a preacher of God’s Word.
