Fast rising Nigeria Actress, Joy Ubeku, during the weekend launched her maiden movie, November 18 in Lagos at the popular Ice Lounge.
The movie which launches her into the league of Nigerian producers featured star actors like Hakeem Rahman, Maureen Okpoko, Rukiyat Masid, Austine Ojimba Patrick and a host of others.
The event was also well attended by the cast, Mr. Babatunde Olalere Gbadamosi popularly referred to BOG and his wife, Mr Demola Olanrewaju, Miss Taiwo Omolara and a host of other celebrities. The event was well-lit with performances from comedians and artistes alike with a popular Gambian trio setting the stage on fire for the night.
Miss Joy Ubeku, while giving her speech, appreciated everyone’s presence at the event while decrying the need to revamp Nigerian hospitals. She emphasized how the movie is a true life depiction of her travails and experiences at a popular Lagos based hospital where her mother passed away. She dedicated the movie to her late mother while reiterating the need to title the movie on the date of her passing away.
Mr Hakeem Rahman, which played the role of a Pastor in the movie which was unlike his movie character appreciated the effort put in into the movie by Joy Ubeku while highlighting the need to give more awareness to happenings in Nigerian hospitals.
Some well wishers at the event also expressed their joy of being a participant at the movie launch. Miss Taiwo Omolara, a friend of Joy Ubeku wished her well while noting that this movie is a stepping stone for greatness to her. She also wished her well after the loss of her mother. She emphasized the need for the exhibition of strength by the girl child, while noting that the movie was shot and produced during a period of mourning of the producer which is a show of strength of the girl child.
