Dr Kaifala Marah has recently been appointed as Chief of Staff in the Office of the President of Sierra Leone. Dr Marah is on secondment from the Commonwealth Secretariat where he serves as Adviser, Public Expenditure Management.
The African Center for Economic Transformation (ACET) works with African governments such as Sierra Leone, Liberia and Ghana to strengthen the capable state and support strategies which serve as catalysts for structural change.
In Sierra Leone, ACET was invited by the Office of the President to undertake a functional review of the Office of the President, following which, His Excellency Dr Ernest Bai Koroma was pleased to approve a range of structural and operational reforms for improving the efficiency and effectiveness of the Presidency. ACET’s policy advisory work is a core component of the Transformation Agenda which provides a platform for constructive engagement with African governments to improve aid management of external resources and improve economic outcomes for African countries by generating new opportunities for internal or regional growth through the creation of new partnerships with the private sector.
