Evans Arabu is geo specialist with Google based in Nairobi, Kenya. He is a graduate of University of Nairobi with a Bachelor of Science with emphasis on Geographic Information System, Photogrammetry, and Remote sensing. He leads the Google Geo Outreach programme for Africa, including training activities on Google Maps, Earth and Map Maker.
Richard is a Data Analyst & Developer Outreach, Kenya, he joined Google working on data in 2009 . Prior to Google he was living and working as a developer in Accra, Ghana. Before that, he co-founded a few startups in Uganda including HotSpotME & SMS2KYAKALE. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Makerere University.
Aneto is a Product Manager based in Zurich leading many of Google’s SMS products and Africa projects. He previously worked on Google’s data storage infrastructure and Google Trends. As part of the infrastructure team, Aneto helped launch hundreds of features across various Google products. Aneto is an avid football fan.
Nnamdi joined Google in 2004 and has helped expand Google enterprise infrastructure around the world. He has recently led an engineering team focused on building network management systems and is currently building a team focused on adapting Google products for Africa.
John Etherton has worked in Liberia since 2008. He began by managing the Georgia Institute of Technology’s research projects on the role of technology and the internet in post-conflict reconciliation. He then worked for the Liberian Ministry of Health as their technical lead for digitizing and automating their health facility accreditation process. Currently, John works for crowd source crisis mapping company, Ushahidi, as their technical manager in Liberia. John received both his bachelors and masters degrees from the Georgia Institute of Technology with highest honors.
Tunji is internationally known journalist and social entrepreneur, a TED alum and has taught at Stanford and Columbia universities. Tunji is the founder of the west African NGO network WANGONeT, leads the Nigerian elections coalition one of the local ushahidi hosts for the NG elections. Tunji was recently mentoring a couple of young local developers creating social impact solutions around building regulation in Lagos and mining the electoral commission database and organizing precinct data from previous years as a foundation for additional crowd-sourced data.
