Shade is a Chartered Accountant with a degree from the University of Kent at Canterbury and an MSc. from London School of Economics and Political Science. Previously, she worked at the British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) and the Consensus Business Group.
Folusho worked as a Financial Analyst with British Petroleum and Shell in the UK and The Netherlands. He studied Economics and has an MA from the University of Aberdeen.
The couple always had plans to own their own business and initially intended to bring the leading ice cream brand Haagen Daz to Nigeria. When this did not work out, they approached a high-end South African ice cream brand, also to no avail. They eventually decided to learn how to make their own ice cream.
Folusho and Shade attended a world-class training programme on frozen dessert production in one of the leading dessert schools in the United States, moved back to Lagos and set up the Ice Cream Factory. Come learn how these two daring entrepreneurs started the company, the challenges they have faced and successes they have achieved since the launch in 2009.
