Kenyan telecommunications company, Safaricom has begun selling the rumored Facebook phone produced by Vodafone and named VF 555. Facebook addicts would love this as the phone is highly Facebook optimized. The phone will be selling for Ksh 6,999.
According to CIO,
The VF 555 is a Mediatek based phone, bearing a similar chip and operating system found on many Chinese, Taiwanesse and Brazilian handsets. Notably, the phone has a 2.4 inch screen, a full qwerty keybaord with a dedicated Facebook key.
The phone supports EDGE Internet connectivity, FM radio, 40 megabytes inbuilt memory (enough to store about 10 MP3 songs) and support for an external memory card. The VF 555 also bundles a 2 Megapixel camera with flash. Entertainment savvy users can look forward to the phones support for standard avi video and a standard earphone jack.
