Every year, TIME Magazine releases its list of 100 people who have been able to influence others. The four groups considered this year are classified as Titans, Pioneers, Artists, Leaders, Icons.
6 Africans were on the List for 2015 that includes Barack Obama, Taylor Swift, Hilary Clinton, Kanye West and Malala for a second time.
Of the 6 Africans, there are 4 Nigerians present on the annual list. They are author and feminist Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Presidential Elect Muhammadu Buhari and former Minister of Education, Obiageli Ezekwesili for lending her voice to #BringBackOurGirls campaign.
Mustafa Hassan is a Sudanese who moved to Syria, Mustafa’s life’s work is focused on protecting young and innocent children caught up in the barbarity of war. He is on the list also.
The oldest person on the list is Mohamed Beji Caid Essebsi. He assumed power as president of Tunisia in December 2014. His victory marked Tunisia’s first free presidential election.
Since taking office, Essebsi has had to deal with the deadliest terrorist attack in the country’s history, an assault on the Bardo National Museum in March.
