About 60 Original Equipment Manufacturers from across the world are expected to participate in the 10th edition of the Lagos Motor Fair and 4th edition of Autoparts Expo.
The event, which commences in Lagos today, 30th April will be declared open by Governor Babatunde Fashola. The fair is designed to bring many OEM into Lagos. Lagos is seen as the hub of automotive business in West Africa. Nigerians and neighbouring countries who are into the business of auto spare are expected at the fair and build lasting worthy relationships with manufacturers from all over the globe.
The fair would save spare parts dealers the trouble of going abroad to seal such business deals and most importantly bring foreign companies into the country, resulting in increased activities in the sector.
The Chairman of the Fair Organizing Committee, Mr. Ifeanyichukwu Agwu, said the motor show remained a gathering of established brands as well as new entrants, ranging from passenger buses, cars, trucks, spare parts, accessories, lubricants and financial institutions.
“Our target is to attract many reputable OEM of spare parts from across the globe to participate in this edition as well as in subsequent ones.”
“We have packaged a show that can effectively be used by the participants and visitors to maximize the benefits derivable from the fair. This edition will bring out all the potential and investment opportunities that abound in the Nigerian automobile industry, which we know are very attractive so that the existing and potential stakeholders will utilize the opportunities offered to get the best.”
He also stressed the importance of continuously staging the show, which was to promote investments in the sector as well as enhance the economic development of Nigeria.
Agwu said, “As part of our efforts in promoting investment into the automotive sector, all strategies have been deployed to ensure that the fair more than ever before receives the needed attention from participants, institutional, trade, professional and individual buyers as well as visitors.
This is the 4th edition of Autoparts Expo. It is the organizer’s guided intention to enhance the development of cottage industries in the spare part sub-sector of the automotive industry.
About 100 automotive companies from Nigeria and abroad are also expected to participate in the 10th edition of the Lagos motor fair and 4th autoparts expo.
Some of the companies and agencies expected at the fair are the CFAO Group, Toyota Nigeria Limited, C&I Motors, Perfection Autos Limited, Dana Motors and Leventis Motors, Pan Nigeria, Mobil Oil Plc, CIG Motors Company Limited, Hamerstone Oil & Gas Nigeria Ltd, National Automotive Council and First Systems Refinishes Limited.
