I love art festivals! Who doesn’t? Lots of interesting art festivals take place across Africa, including the the just concluded 2015 edition of the annual Harare International Festival of the Arts.
The Harare International Festival of the Arts (HIFA) is a week-long festival established in 1999 by Manuel Bagorro. The festival which features theatre, dance, music, circus, street performance, fashion, spoken word and visual arts, has become the largest cultural event in Zimbabwe and among the eight major festivals in Africa
The 2015 edition of the 6-day annual festival and workshop programme, which held on April 29 to May 4, was themed ‘Articulate’. It came with a line up of exciting activities that showcased the very best of local, regional and international arts and culture, thrilling art lovers and Zimbabwean audiences who were present. With Artists, Musicians, Poets, Dancers and a number of other talents from across Africa, the excitement was kept alive till the end.
