Muzinda is a technological learning and Innovation Hub based in Zimbabwe; a one-stop shop for idea development, innovation and digital skills development. Incubated ideas will then be turned into solutions and business cases for job creation, wealth creation and sustainable social impact. The Hub’s initiative seek to capacitate the youth with both an investment in human capital through training and mentorship programs that connect Zimbabwe’s youth to opportunities within the emerging knowledge economy.
Muzinda is set to develop a platform that will empower young Zimbabweans with relevant, 21st century digital skills and entrepreneurial opportunities. The organization has started with training and equipping young people with world class business and digital skills.
Muzinda provides quality online/offline training that teaches high-demand digital such as Social Media, iOS, Android, HTML, CSS, WordPress, PHP, Python, Java- Script, Ruby, and more. Top candidates will be identified and given career services, mentoring, and additional training to be vetted as job-ready.
The organisation aims to train 1,000 youth in digital skills, with 70 per cent of this target already in training. The first 100 graduates have already completed their training, and are now enrolled in internships with global organizations partnering with Muzinda Hub.
According to Muzinda’s management “Our goal at Muzinda is to to harness the power of technology with the purpose of educating and training Zimbabwe’s young people with the technical and vocational 21st-century relevant skills required in the new emerging knowledge economy. Despite the on-going revolution within the ICT sector, the African continent is currently experiencing high rates of unemployment.”
Muzinda hopes to solve the unemployment problem by equipping the youths with necessary skills.
