You’ve probably been stuck at one point when you needed answers and advice regarding a legal issue in your business, or even personal life. There are times you just need a Lawyer to enlighten you about certain legal matters. How about seeking an online legal adviser?
Nigerian startup, LawPadi is an online query platform that promises to offer free legal advice and information about every industry/sector of the economy.
Through the free personalised service, LawPadi aims to educate the Nigerian populace about their legal rights and duties, focusing on providing clear and easy to understand answers to questions faced in their everyday challenges, and cutting through legal jargons.
According to Founder and Managing Director of LawPadi, Ibidapo-Obe, “We believe the way the legal system in Nigeria is set up needs to change. There is a severe imbalance against the common person with respect to access to justice and knowledge of rights. We launched LawPadi to attempt to move the scales of justice in favour of the people who need it. The regular man or woman on the street, the fledgling startup, or even just the person trying to educate themselves on their rights.”
To use the online platform, users submit their legal question or issue, and a member of the LawPadi team would review and respond within a 24-hour window. The startup plans to reduce the response time to a few hours.
Users can also subscribe to SMS service to receive weekly content on various topics and explaining the rights in the circumstances in the featured topic(s).
