Lizzie Creations, creators of AfroTalez, an educative app that promotes African traditional stories has launched an Indiegogo campaign for a new game, ‘Choices’, which will be an Interactive Mobile App that creates awareness of specific issues African women face every day.
Choices will be in form of a visual novel, where players will play Cecilia, a teenage girl growing up in unenviable circumstances and trying to navigate the pitfalls of early marriage, abuse, promiscuity, drugs and a host of other challenges.
According to Elizabeth Kperrun-Eremie, founder of Lizzie’s Creations, “playing the game as Cecelia gives the reader an immersive experience that I hope will help them relate with her circumstances and thus know how some of the choices we make in life will impact our future for good or otherwise.”
“Overall we aim that this will not only be great locally-relevant mobile entertainment but will lead to societal change,” she said.
Launched on Monday, 27th August 2015, the campaign aims to generate awareness for the project and gauge interest for such a project on a local and global scale and secondly to raise funds to complement what the company has for the development of the first episode.
The company hopes to raise $6000 in the six weeks campaign, to cover development costs, art, programming, music/sound,writing, voice-acting and other miscellaneous costs.
