The World Retail Congress has revealed the list of finalists for the 2015 World Retail Awards, and for the third consecutive year, Jumia has emerged as a finalist.
The online retailer emerged winner of the 2013 Best New Retail Launch award, was nominated for the 2014 CSR Initiative of the Year and has been nominated for the 2015 eCommerce Retailer of the Year.
Jumia will be vying for this award against world class organizations such as Matchesfashion.com – UK, Michael Hill Jewellery – Australia, Yoox Group – Italy, Appliancesonline – Australia, JD.com – China and Mudo – Turkey.
Ian McGarrigle, Chairman of the World Retail Congress, said: “These awards were launched back in 2007 to help highlight and celebrate the innovation and expertise that takes place across the global retail industry. With the industry facing enormous changes, this has never been more relevant and important than it is today.”
Former World Retail Award winners include H&M, THE NET-A-PORTER GROUP, Starbucks, and Sainsbury’s.
