The ability to access, navigate, and shape technology is critical to everyone’s optimal participation in all sectors of society as technology has become an integral part of our everyday living. There is a however a gender divide in the growing techie population; women and girls are lagging behind when it comes to technological access, literacy, and influence.
On a mission to bridge this gap, Chiomachuka.com is creating a communal platform, TechHer. TechHer is a community of women already using technology for work or play who will support each other, collaborate on social or community projects, and serve as ready mentors for new entrants to technology. It is a community of women helping themselves get familiar with and understand technology. TechHer will increase productivity, create new entrepreneurial ventures and open access to new income-generating pursuits though interaction, friendship and mentorship.
The community is opened to the entire range of women working/dabbling in technology: developers, bloggers, social media practitioners, or even women who just have a passing interest.
The maiden edition of TechHer is scheduled to hold on Friday the 28th of August, at 6pm and registration is necessary for attendance.
