A Lagos based Non Governmental and non profit organization, Goal Enhancement Motivators popular referred to as GEM Initiatives have embarked on a school to school outreach on health diseases, mainly on Hepatitis.
The enlightenment according to the President of the NGO, is to help young people become more aware of the deadly Hepatitis which has been given poor publicity by health officials.
He said, “Over 4,000 people die of Hepatitis daily across the world and this is even more deadly than the dreaded HIV but we at GEM have found the need to educate more people on this”.
The school the outreach began from is Turning Point College, Isolo, Lagos.

Goal Enhancement Motivators is a non governmental, non-profit organization with keen interest in sexual and reproductive health issues. The NGO’s emphasis is laid on viral hepatitis, HIV and HPV. The group seeks to combat hepatitis through health education, access to vaccines and cheaper treatment methods.
The group is run by young Nigerians with its base in Lagos state.
