The recently organised business forum between Nigeria and Indonesia was a wake up call for interested Nigerians who are looking for a business opportunity. The forum which was well attended and commendable had trade mission delegation from Indonesia consisting of seven companies that embraced the business forum which was organised by Indonesia Trade Promotion Centre, Lagos held at Eko Hotel, Lagos.
Before now, Indonesia with numerous quality products ranging from pharmaceutical, textile, agriculture, consumer goods etc. has remained in Nigeria creating jobs and business opportunities as well as contributing immensely to the growth and development of the Nigerian economy despite the challenging operational environment. To further boost already existing trade relationship with Nigeria, the visiting companies across different sectors in Indonesia were in the country for business negotiation, partnership and for economic benefits of both countries.
Speaking at the forum, Director, Indonesian Trade Promotion Centre (ITPC), of the Embassy, Republic of Indonesia in Lagos, Nino Wawan Setiawan, said, ITPC Lagos is committed to actively raise the quality and standard of investment in Nigeria and Africa regardless of the type of business, together we can work, build and achieve our goals.
Setiawan stressed that this is the time for a new generation of Indonesian investors and Nigeria business executives to step forward to make the Nigerian economy buoyant again, saying, it is time to ensure that enough jobs are created for Nigerian youths.
According to him, the trade mission from Indonesia has goals to further develop, improve and continue the bilateral trade relationship which existed long ago between our two countries, saying further that they are more than ready to do serious, prosperous business with Nigerian business persons.
In addition, Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Harry Purwanto, said during the forum that his country’s government supports business relationship with Nigeria and other African countries.
